Rooted in Community: How Boardwalk Gives Back
Keith Troyer
At Boardwalk Hardwood Floors, remarkable service and quality craftsmanship have always gone hand in hand with something just as important to us: community. For more than 25 years, we've called St. Louis home, and we believe a business is only as strong as the community that supports it. From mentoring the next generation of designers to sponsoring local causes we care about, giving back isn't a side project for us — it's part of who we are.
Here's a look at some of the ways we've been showing up for our community.
Investing in the Next Generation of Designers
For more than 15 years, Boardwalk has partnered with local university design programs to offer students hands-on internship opportunities. These internships give students a real look into the profession — a chance to explore residential and commercial design before stepping into their first full-time role.
Through hands-on experience, our interns get to know the ins and outs of firm operations, client interactions, and teamwork, building a foundation for their future careers. We're proud of this long-standing partnership and remain committed to supporting design students as they prepare to enter the industry.
Spreading Holiday Joy with Toys for Tots
During the holiday season, Boardwalk proudly partners with Toys for Tots as a primary drop-off location for the annual Toy Drive. With four convenient locations across the region, we make it easy for our community to give back. Bringing in a new, unwrapped toy is a small gesture that can make a child's Christmas a little brighter — and we're honored to help make that happen year after year.
Finding Forever Homes at Our St. Peters Showroom
We recently opened our doors — and our hearts — to host an adoption event at our St. Peters showroom alongside Stray Paws Rescue, a local, foster-based rescue dedicated to giving animals a second chance at a loving home. Visitors got the chance to meet some incredible adoptable dogs, and for a few lucky families, that visit turned into a new member of the family. We loved being able to support this cause and hope to host more events like it in the future.
Teeing Off for a Good Cause
Golf tournaments are one of our favorite ways to support local charitable efforts. Most recently, in June 2026, Boardwalk was proud to sponsor the Rachel Mueth Memorial Golf Tournament, benefiting Our Lady of Providence. It's one of several community golf events we've supported over the years, and we're grateful for the chance to contribute to causes that matter to our neighbors.
Supporting Local Schools
Boardwalk has also sponsored a number of local school programs and publications over the years. One recent example: we were proud to support the Clayton High School CLAMO Yearbook staff. With hundreds of students, staff, and families flipping through those pages for years to come, sponsorships like this are a meaningful way to invest in the students and schools that make up our community.
Cheering on the Blues
Beyond our hands-on community work, Boardwalk has also been a proud sponsor of the St. Louis Blues for 12 years. While this is a brand partnership, it reflects the same spirit behind everything else on this list: a genuine commitment to and pride in the St. Louis community we're proud to call home.
Quality Flooring Meets Community Care
From classrooms to showrooms to the golf course, Boardwalk Hardwood Floors is proud to invest in the people and causes that make St. Louis such a special place to live and work. We're grateful for the opportunity to give back, and we're just getting started.
