Hi—I’m Greg Blanke, owner of Boardwalk Hardwood Floors.
Before I started this company, I began my career as a distributor sales rep for E. J. Welch in St. Louis, MO from 1992-1993, after graduating from the University of Missouri—Columbia in 1992. In 1993, I was offered a Regional Sales position in Denver for Bruce Hardwood Floors covering Colorado, New Mexico and Wyoming. At that time, Colorado was the 6th largest hardwood flooring market in the United States. I gained a tremendous amount of product knowledge and hands on experience during my tenure in Colorado. In 1996, I was promoted to Regional Manager for Bruce Hardwood Floors, covering the upper Midwest region.
Shortly after, I made the decision to open my own company, Boardwalk Hardwood Floors, in 1997. I felt there was a need for a company that would not only sell hardwood flooring, but also educate the customer on product, installation, refinishing and proper maintenance. There are many places customers can purchase hardwood flooring, but all they get is the flooring. The customer is left to run all over town to find the equipment to install it and the accessories to finish the job. Boardwalk truly specializes in hardwood flooring. We carry everything someone would need to complete a hardwood install or refinish. We carry flooring, moldings, vents, polyurethane, applicators, maintenance products, installation tools, sanders and most importantly, the knowledge to walk you step by step thru your project. We teach weekly installation and refinishing seminars and even rent professional installation tools to our customers.
Our first location opened in Manchester, MO in 1997. We opened our second location in South County in 1999 and our St. Charles store in 2004. Our customer base includes homeowners, DIY, remodeling contractors, home builders, flooring contractors, kitchen and bath stores, architects, designers and other flooring retailers. We have developed exclusive relationships with several hardwood flooring mills which allow us to bring product directly to the end user, cutting out the traditional chain of distribution. This allows us to bring more value to you at a lower price.
